Abstract
A traffic accident is an unexpected and unwanted road traffic event that is difficult to predict when and where it will occur, involving at least one vehicle with or without other road users which causes injury, trauma, disability, death and/or property loss to the owner. Based on data from Korlantas Polri, the number of electric bicycle traffic accidents in Indonesia reached 107 cases in early 2023 and based on data in Citeureup Village, it was found that there were 30 cases of accidents involving children riding electric bicycles. This research method is quantitative and the aim of this research is to determine the relationship between knowledge, the role of parents, and demographic conditions with the risk of electric bicycle accidents among children in Citeureup Village, Bogor in 2024. The benefit of this research is to reduce the risk of electric bicycle accidents among children. The sampling technique in this research was a total sampling of 40 children. This research is a quantitative research with a cross sectional approach using the chi square test. The results of the study showed that there was a relationship between knowledge and the risk of electric bicycle accidents (p=0.046), there was no relationship between the role of parents and the risk of electric bicycle accidents (p=0.062), there was a relationship between age and the risk of electric bicycle accidents (p=0.001), then There is no relationship between gender and the risk of electric bicycle accidents (p = 0.702), and there is a relationship between driving experience and the risk of electric bicycle accidents (p = 0.001). Conclusion: There is a relationship between knowledge, age and years of riding and the risk of electric bicycle accidents among children in Citeureup Village, Bogor in 2024. Suggestion: Carry out supervision regarding electric bicycles among the community, especially children, in an effort to avoid accidents while riding.
